What a beautiful couple Bernadine & Dean were, a match made in heaven! I met Bernadine one Saturday at The Centre Ivanhoe with her bridesmaids, to discuss her upcoming wedding.
We discussed the colours that her girls were wearing (Lavender & Wisteria), the dress colour that Bernadine was wearing (a very pale nude pink/pink champagne with white beaded lace), her invitations that had been done and the colours used (nude pink lace & white), and her overall inspiration that Bernadine wanted captured on the day, to be VINTAGE.
So when we put this all together, we tried to keep in vintage, with doing drop pearls across the bridal & cake table skirting (similar pearls as used in on her dress), kept the rose petals around the cake to similar shades to the bridesmaids, and did very tiny buds of roses for the cake decor, of which myself and my staff prepared, designed & placed.
The centrepieces were to be kept low, fresh flowers indeed and to be used with the colours included. Bernadine's original plan was to have hydrangeas, but as time got closer to the date, and when I investigated for her at the flower markets, we had no such luck. So I came up with the idea to have white & lavender lysanthius & a mixture of the nude pink/pink champagne roses with greenery.
So overall, we were exceptionally happy with the setup & design, as was Bernadine.
I had a few extra roses left over, so as a nice thought and extra touch, I placed 1 on each of the bridesmaids napkins as well as Bernadine's :)
All the bows on the chairs, the napkins & swagging around the cake & bridal table, were custome designed for Bernadine's colour that she wanted. I sewed all this myself.
